WIN had the privilege of attending this year’s Valley Veterans Day event, linking up with veterans across the Van Nuys and Burbank communities for a day rooted in honor, camaraderie, and straight-up warrior spirit. What kicked off as a community gathering quickly turned into a formation of Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Coast Guardsmen — each with different paths, but every one of them carrying that same unbreakable backbone of service.
For WIN, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with America’s warfighters isn’t just another check-the-box appearance — it’s a reminder of the mission we’ve taken on. This event reinforced why we do what we do: making damn sure every veteran has the support, direction, and community they need as they step into civilian life. No Marine, no veteran, no warrior ever fights alone on our watch.
We also had the opportunity to connect with Marine veteran and State Senator Caroline Menjivar. The conversation cut straight to what matters: the challenges warriors face when they take off the uniform — building careers, finding stability, accessing services, and rebuilding that sense of belonging that you don’t realize you miss until it’s gone. Marine-to-Marine, the dialogue was pure purpose: no fluff, no politics, just mission-oriented focus, accountability, and that old-school “take care of your own” mentality.
WIN walked away from the Valley Veterans Day event not just motivated, but locked in. The energy, the stories, the drive from the veterans in attendance lit a fire under the team — the kind of fire that comes straight from the Corps: discipline, loyalty, and a commitment to never leaving a brother or sister behind. As we move into 2025, we’re doubling down on our presence in the Van Nuys/Burbank area, expanding our support networks, and pushing forward with the mindset every Marine knows by heart: adapt, improvise, overcome.
A WIN for veterans, a WIN for our community — and one hell of a reminder that the warrior spirit doesn’t fade… it just finds new missions.
