Mission: P-51 Mustang Tribute Reveal

Mission: P-51 Mustang Tribute Reveal

On Monday, November 24, 2025, Warriors In Need (WIN) gathered in the hangar to unveil a tribute painting of the P-51 Mustang, created by Paige Ingram to honor veterans and the living legacy of this amazing aircraft. The event took place in the same hangar where the aircraft lives, giving guests a rare chance to stand next to this legendary aircraft, take photos, and see a piece of aviation history up close.

To kick off the day, Mark Curry took to the skies in the backseat of the P-51 for a flight that had been purchased as a Father’s Day gift from his son Ryan. When the Mustang returned to the hangar, engines loud and rolling in, everyone stopped to watch. It was one of those moments that transcends words: the sound, the presence of the aircraft, and the skill it takes to fly it all spoke for themselves.

Community, Support, and Recognition

The hangar was full of longtime supporters, volunteers, and friends of WIN, many of whom have been involved since our earliest days. Representatives from California State Senator Caroline Menjivar’s office joined the event and presented the artist, Paige Ingram, with a certificate recognizing her work supporting veterans.

Paige’s painting captures the P-51 in flight and the meaning behind it. For those in the room, the reveal wasn’t about the artwork alone. It was a moment to pause, take it in, and share a sense of pride with people who care about the same mission.

Supporting the Mission Through Flight

Dick Pack, the P-51 pilot, owner, and fellow veteran, continues to donate his time by offering these flights as part of WIN’s fundraising efforts. Watching the P-51 fly is an amazing and unique experience. Beyond this, it directly supports veterans working to transition into civilian aviation careers. His continued commitment makes these experiences possible, and it means a great deal to the veterans WIN serves.

After the reveal, guests stayed for a Happy Hour at La Corona Bar and Grill, sponsored by Video Valet. The group also enjoyed incredible cigars courtesy of Belvedere Club LA. It gave everyone time to talk, catch up, and reflect on the day — good food, good conversations, and a shared appreciation for what the experience represented.

Thank You to Our Volunteers

This event only worked because of the volunteers who showed up and got it done. We thank them for setting up workstations, hanging flags, polishing the P-51, escorting guests, and keeping everything moving behind the scenes. Their effort made the day run smoothly and created a meaningful experience for everyone involved.

From the roar of the P-51 Mustang returning to the hangar, to Paige’s amazing tribute painting, to good times during Happy Hour, the day was a reminder of why WIN exists:

To honor service, support veterans moving forward, and build a community that shows up for one another.

Thank you to all of our sponsors for their continued support of WIN.
