“Losing structure and having to figure out next steps on my own was one of the biggest challenges I faced after discharge. There was a lot to navigate without clear guidance.” After transitioning from the military, Jorge successfully found his footing in civilian aviation—learning to operate without the built-in structure and expectations he had relied on in uniform. “The military had clear structure and expectations,” he explains. “Civilian life requires more self direction and planning, which took time to adjust to.” Through persistence and self-direction, Jorge has continued building his aviation career. As he moves into the next phase—earning his Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license—the process has become more complex and financially demanding. “WIN has helped guide and support me as I continue building my aviation career and navigating a process that can be confusing without the right support.”How WIN Supports Jorge
Warriors In Need is supporting Jorge by helping cover the significant costs associated with A&P study and testing—bridging a critical gap between hands-on experience and certification, and accelerating his pathway toward long-term career progression in aviation.
